Desert tour to Erg El Mhazil

Itinerary

Day 1 : Agadir - Erg El Mhazil

We will leave in the morning from your hotel in Agadir to reach the desert. We will take the road that connects Agadir to Foum Zguid and goes through Taroudant and Taliouine where we will mark a break on the way. This route is an opportunity to observe the plain villages where oranges, olives and almonds are grown with the background of the Middle Atlas. Little by little, the nature becomes more arid, the palm trees more present until the palm grove of Zguid which announces the arrival close to Foum Zguid, the city of the gates of the desert. In Foum Zguid, we will take a break to have a tea in the heart of the city, choose the traditional chèche that will protect you from the sun then we will leave in 4x4 by the track. There begins the Iriki National Park by vast stony plains called a reg, a desert of stones. We will see in the distance the millenary mountains in the shape of plateaus.

Then we arrive at the first dunes, the beginning of the Sahara sand sea that leads us to the Erg El Mhazil camp. In these dunes, no mass tourism but responsible tourism where the environment is respected.

You can then rest and discover the magnificent landscapes all around, even more beautiful seen from the top of the great dune. Enjoy the moment of sunset when all nature ignites and then give way to the thousands of stars in a sky so black. In front of this spectacle, some travelers make the choice to sleep under the stars to contemplate this magnificent painting but you can also sleep under the big tents in a comfortable bed, in the silence of the desert.

Day 2 : Erg El Mhazil

In the early morning, you can admire the sunrise and have breakfast outdoors. Then we will leave for a camel ride in the dunes, at the quiet rhythm of these amazing animals. Let yourself go and enjoy the moment. Back to the camp for lunch, you can then rest, a nap is always appreciated when the sun is at zenith. Then in the afternoon, you can go on foot in the surroundings, enjoy the view or participate in the preparation of the evening meal to learn Moroccan cuisine. This dinner will be served in the evening outside or under the large tent then we will share a convivial moment around the fire to exchange on the life of the nomads of here and play traditional music, so important in the daily life of the nomads.

Day 3 : Erg El Mhazil - Agadir

Enjoy one last time the beauty of the landscapes and this soothing calm before heading back to Agadir. We will cross the plains of the dry lake of Iriki, with a stop on a site of prehistoric fossils. Then we will drive from Foum Zguid to Agadir which we will reach in the late afternoon.
